Terms and Conditions

To avoid misunderstandings, we advise you to read our terms and conditions before booking. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.

Due to Covid-19, our terms and conditions have been temporarily adjusted and may change during the season depending on current developments. (See also the Covid-19 passage.)

French law provides that only the French text of our general terms and conditions is legally valid. Below is a translation of the French text.

Art 1: Application
The general terms and conditions apply to any stay in our accommodation, unless otherwise agreed in writing and signed by us.

Art 2: Duration of stay
The stay in our gîte is only possible for tourist reasons, with a limited stay.
You can book our accommodation for a weekend, a midweek or a full week. Under no circumstances can you invoke any right to perpetuate the stay.

Art 3: High- low season
We do not use high and low season. During the winter (1 November – Easter) we do ask for a surcharge of € 5 per day to cover the extra heating costs.

Art 4: Reservation and deposit
A reservation is only final when you have transferred the payment of the rent of the gîte. When booking you will receive a confirmation email from us. You pay at least 30 days before arrival. If the arrival date falls within 30 days of booking, you will pay immediately after confirmation of your reservation.

Art 5: Rates
The rates as stated on the website ptitjolie.nl are the applicable rates.

Art 6: Balance
Other costs will be settled on the morning of departure. You cannot pin with us. Payment can be made: in cash or by direct bank transfer.

Art 7: Cancellation by the guest:
Any cancellation must be notified by telephone and in writing. The following costs will be charged:

Cancellation between 30 and 14 days before arrival: 50% of the deposit remains with us, unless we can re-let the gte.

Cancellation less than 14 days before arrival. The amount of the entire reservation remains with us.

In case of a shorter stay than the reservation, no refund of the number of days not stayed will be made.

Art 8: Cancellation by the owner
In the event that we are obliged (due to special circumstances) to cancel the stay, you will be informed immediately by telephone and in writing. You will immediately receive a refund of amounts already paid. We do not accept any liability for other damage suffered by you, no further claim can be made for any form of compensation, of whatever nature.

Art 9: Arrival and departure
On the day of arrival, we are happy to welcome you between 4 and 5 pm. If you arrive later, please consult us in advance. On the day of departure you can use the accommodation until 10.30 am.

Art 10: Sojourn tax
The sojourn tax, (taxe de séjour), is a local tourist tax, which you must pay to us. The tourist tax is included in the rental price. We are obliged to pay this tourist tax to the French state.

Art 11: Use of the Gîte
You are expected to keep the peace and to use installations, buildings, guest house, furniture only for what they are intended for. You leave the accommodation in good condition.

Art 12: Environment
We expect you to take the neighbors and the environment into account.

Art 13: Pets
Pets are not allowed.

Art 14: Smoking ban
Smoking is not allowed in the house and in the courtyard.

Art 15: Drinks and food
We follow the French alcohol legislation for chambres d’hôtes with restaurant license. No alcohol may be served to minors under the age of 18.

Art 16: Registration
We are obliged, in accordance with French law, to register all persons with a nationality other than French. We do not provide your data to third parties.

In case of a lockdown of our region (Ardennes department) or the closure of the borders by the government due to Covid-19, you will receive the payment back in the event of cancellation. In all other cases, our usual terms and conditions as stated above apply.
